Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) of the Downtown Ofaakor Area, during its Lord’s Supper on Sunday, May 2, 2021, with Pastor Isaac Annor as the speaker for the first service, challenged the church (congregation) to prayerfully arise to recover the Pentecostal culture and norms. Preaching on the theme “Recovering the Pentecostal Heritage” with Bible reading from Psalm 78:1-7, the Preacher admonished that, idol worship has been nullified by the existence of Christianity.
It is for this reason the church is mandated to bestow on the younger generation, what the Pentecostal heritage bares. According to Pastor Annor, The Church of Pentecost is synonymous with its rooted teachings. For instance, the church is identified with the Holy Spirit and the fireworks of God. He stated that, every believer receives faith and manifestation of the Holy Spirit for He lives with us (John 14: 16-17). “It is my prayer that, the Holy Spirit will continue to manifest in His Church”, he added.
Pastor Annor testified of how his elder brother led all his siblings to receive baptism of the Holy Spirit and the manifestation of God. He again narrated how Rev. James McKeown led a group of “illiterates” to accept the Holy Spirit by instilling in them, faith and the true word of God. “How I pray the power of God visits the church again”. He added.
In conclusion, he quizzed the morality and integrity of the modern generation associated with the church, and admonished the church to go back and pick the pieces from her heritage and recover the Pentecostal glory.
